| No, there was no sign of illness in my parents, grandparents, or siblings when I was born. However, several months after my birth, my father developed a spinal tumor. The tumor was malignant and proved fatal. He died when I was 10 months old. My physician has since told me that my father’s illness didn’t play a role in my disability. |
