Tomsfeet Productions
What caused your disability?
My disability was likely caused by some type of genetic defect.
After my birth, doctors offered to conduct tests to try and find out why this occurred. My parents declined the offer. They reasoned that, regardless of the cause, nothing could change the results. They chose to accept me unconditionally as their child, regardless of my physical condition and whatever may have caused my birth defects.
Were you a Thalidomide baby?
Thalidomide was a drug prescribed for pregnant women in the late 1950s to combat nausea and sleeplessness. It was later discovered that the use of the drug caused major birth defects in children.
My mother never took this drug. I was NOT a thalidomide baby.
