So he uses his legs and feet to do everything in his life including writing,
dressing, cooking, and even driving an automobile specially equipped with
foot steering controls. Throughout his life he has learned to adapt and tackle
the many challenges he faces each and every day.
TOM WILLIS was born without arms and hands.

As a motivational speaker...
|
He meets with groups of all ages -- from professionals through pre-school -- to
share his insights and experiences living life from such a unique perspective.
Despite his birth defects and early childhood marred with illness and surgeries,
body casts and braces, traction and prosthetics, Tom grew up as a normal
child in his family's home in the suburbs of Washington, DC.
He excelled in academics, earning his Masters Degree in Educational
Technology (with a perfect 4.0 grade point average) and his Bachelor of Arts
Degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Radio, Television, and Film Production, both
from the University of Maryland.
Tom worked for more than two decades as an award-winning video
and satellite television produce, public affairs officer, and in various
administrative management positions for the Federal government in
Washington, DC, and San Diego, CA.
He also worked for nearly a decade in broadcast television
production with musicians, and Hollywood and Broadway stars.
From the White House to Hollywood, Tom amazed his peers with his
professionalism, strong work ethic, and "can do" attitude.
Tom now works as a motivational speaker.

Tom shares personal stories of overcoming the physical obstacles he's encountered in his personal and
professional life. He provides examples of not only meeting, but also exceeding in the various challenges he
has faced. And he recounts the skeptical attitudes he's confronted and how easily he proved them wrong.
His demonstrations using his feet show his creative and unique approach to problem solving.
Through audience interaction and role-play he shows how his approach to his career and to his life with his
strategy of the four P's -- setting Priorities, Planning, Persistence, and Patience -- can be a model for others to
help address and overcome their personal and/or professional struggles.
Some of the principles he shares include:
►When life doesn't go your way, you need to adapt and move forward with what you have.
►If you really want something, you can always find a way to achieve it.
►Although a person may appear different on the outside, everyone is still a person on the inside.
